As the quarantine commences, we are all recommended to stay in our homes and practice social distancing. Many of my friends have been saying that our generation is less likely to be affected by the virus, although there have been studies going on that somewhat prove this theory wrong.
There is new CDC data being shown that claims up to 40 percent of patients that are sick enough to be hospitalized are between the ages of 20-54. This is somewhat scary to think about, especially when you don't know if you have any underlying diseases. But, then again, this is very new territory for us, so the statistics being showed are not guaranteed to be true or accurate.
It's hard for me to not feel anxious about what is going on, especially having a "fear of dying". Though it's unlikely for someone my age to have something serious as the outcome of contracting the virus, it's scary to even have it as a possibility. I just keep reminding myself that one day, we'll return to school and I can go back to my normal schedule and be able to hang out with my friends.
Yes, it is a surreal situation that's only going to get weirder. I like how you're staying focused on the end, for surely this will pass.
